EVO ICL FAQ

Will I be able to feel the EVO lens once it is in place?

EVO is not typically noticeable after it is implanted. It does not attach to any structures within the eye and does not move around once in place.

Is EVO ICL safe?

With EVO ICL complications are very rare, however with everything in life nothing is risk free.

When making the decision to have EVO ICL make sure you always do your research and choose a surgeon who is experienced.

What and who is EVO intended for?

EVO ICL is intended for the correction of moderate to high nearsightedness. EVO ICL is intended to safely and effectively correct nearsightedness between -3.0D to -15.0D, the reduction in nearsightedness up to -20.0D and treatment of astigmatism from 1.0 D to 4.0 D. If you have nearsightedness within these ranges, EVO ICL may improve your distance vision without glasses or contacts.

Will I need reading glasses?

EVO ICL does not correct the need for reading glasses and bifocals, it focuses more on nearsightedness and astigmatism. However, we do offer other vision correction procedures that can get you out of readers and bifocals, just give us a call or browse our site to find out what your options are.

What is the EVO lens made of?

The material is called Collamer, a collagen co-polymer that contains a small amount of purified collagen which is proprietary to STAAR Surgical; the remainder is made of a smilier material that is found in soft contact lenses. It is very biocompatible (does not cause a reaction inside the eye) and stable. EVO ICL lenses also contain an ultraviolet light filter.
