Does LASIK hurt?
We are happy to offer all of our patients virtually painless vision correction procedures. The Aurora LASIK team will provide you with everything you need to be comfortable throughout your procedure and recovery.
Before your procedure we will administer some anesthetic drops that will fully numb the eye before surgery begins. You are also given a mild sedative to help you relax if you choose to take it. During your procedure you might feel a light pressure sensation around your eye and that’s it!
Is LASIK safe?
With LASIK complications are very rare, however with everything in life nothing is risk free. That being said studies has shown that vision correction procedures are safer, over time than wearing contacts.
When making the decision to have LASIK make sure you always do your research and choose a surgeon who is experienced.
When will my vision be fixed and when will I be able to go back to work?
Have LASIK on Wednesday and back to work on Friday, truly it’s that simple!
Most LASIK patients are able to drive to their one day post op appointments on their own and resume normal day to day actives the day after surgery as well. Some things your doctor might recommend you avoid for a few weeks are things like contact sports and swimming. But besides that you are good to go the very next day!
Will I need reading glasses?
LASIK does not correct the need for reading glasses and bifocals, it only corrects distance vision. However we do offer other vision correction procedures that can get you out of readers and bifocals, just give us a call or browse our site to find out what your options are.
